At what age should I start bringing my child to the dentist?

The team at Ash Lane Dental Suite are always happy to welcome new patients of any age.

Generally, we recommend coming to see the dentist for a check-up as soon as your child’s first teeth start appearing.

We’ll be able to advise you about choosing the right kind of toothbrush and toothpaste, and show you the most effective way on how to brush your child’s teeth.

How often should children see the dentist?

For children, regular appointments with the dentist every 6 months or so are a good idea.

A routine check-up is a convenient way to assess the development of your child’s teeth and spot any potential issues early.

We also find young children quickly become familiar with the environment and develop trust in our friendly team of oral health professionals.

Coming to the practice, sitting in the chair and having their teeth and mouth examined can minimise anxiety and increase confidence through childhood, adolescence and into adulthood.
